The UAE has two world-class airlines:

• Etihad Airways, is an Abu Dhabi-based airways founded in 2003. Etihad is the national airline of the UAE and is one of the fastest-growing airlines in the world. The airline reached 30 destinations in 30 months in June 2006, and plans to reach 70 international destinations by 2010.

• Emirates Airlines, started in 1985 and is headquartered in Dubai. The airline has a fleet of 113 aircraft and currently flies to over 100 destinations in 62 countries around the world. It is currently the eighth largest airline in the world.

• Fly Dubai based in Dubai and Air Arabia based in Sharjah, are the UAE’s latest low fare airlines established to meet the rising demand of the middle and low income individuals traveling from and to the UAE.
