H.E. Dr. Ahmed Al Banna, UAE Ambassador to
India met with Dr. P.V. Ramesh, Additional
Chief Secretary to Chief Minister, Government
of Andhra Pradesh, India

A meeting was convened between H.E. Dr. Ahmad Al Banna, UAE Ambassador to India, and Dr. P.V. Ramesh, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister, Government of Andhra Pradesh, India. Mr. Ahmad Sultan AlFalahi, UAE Commercial Attaché to India, was also present for the said meeting.
 

The primary agenda of the said meeting was to deliberate on various matters of mutual interest aimed at enhancing economic relations between UAE and the Indian State of Andhra Pradesh.

H.E. Dr. AlBanna noted that UAE enjoys very strong economic relations with considerable investments in the state.

Dr. P.V. Ramesh, for his part, apprised the UAE Ambassador about the intent of the State Government to develop its coastline and improve connectivity from the State. To this effect, the State is currently inviting foreign investors to explore opportunities available within the State for four Port and an Airport Development and Management projects.

H.E. Ambassador applauded the development initiatives and assured his support towards the same. H.E. added that the concept of development is inconceivable without enhancing connectivity, and port and airport development are hence vital for the economic progress of the State.

H.E. added that UAE Companies such as DP World and DNATA, already have major presence and successful operations in India in the respective domain of port and airport management.   

The visiting State official was pleased to learn about the UAE Companies and agreed to send a brief to Ambassador on various Development Projects being undertaken by the State so that the same information may be disseminated to the relevant stakeholders in the UAE.

H.E. Al Banna as well the Indian official also discussed some of the pending issues concerning UAE investments in the State of Andhra Pradesh.

Both the sides agreed that an early resolution of these issues would not only restore the confidence of UAE investors but also pave the way for enhancing the UAE investments.     

The two sides, hailed the bilateral economic relations and expressed their intent to closely work together and align their efforts to their mutual benefit. 

The meeting culminated on a cordial and positive note.
